![]() Tanki Online Beginning (2009)Ĭlosed beta testing of the new game called Tanki Online began on May 8, 2009. The dream of a multiplayer action game about tanks began to come true. Here is an archive video of what the game looked like:Īs a result of development, the team got prototypes of Smoky turret and Hunter hull. Tanks had only one map that actually was a single 3D-model (maps in Tanki Online are made of many blocks called props). It required one, two and three hits to destroy light, medium and heavy hull respectively. Players had a choice of three types of tanks: light, medium and heavy. Garage there was much more diverse than the one in Tanks for Two. Tanks became the prototype of Tanki Online. The demo was developed using the Alternativa3D 5 graphics engine. It was a multiplayer action game about tanks based on Flash. Tanks (late 2008 – early 2009)Ģ months before the start of active development of Tanki Online by AlternativaPlatform team, they came up with a demo what was supposed to demonstrate the possibilities of the server platform. Thanks to this project, there came the idea of a tank multiplayer shooter. Small, simple, with graphic that reminded players of old java-games for mobile phones and only two players – it was that simple. It was designed as an experiment, by young Anton Volkov (wolf) and Alexander Karpovich (karp) – founders of AlternativaPlatform and Tanki Online. Tanks for Two (late 90s)Ībout thirteen years ago, there was an ancestor of Tanki Online – a game called Tanks for Two. This article is for those who want to know about the past of Tanki Online and its origins. We never stop developing the game and looking into the future. This brought Tanki Online to a new level. An important event for the project was the emergence of technical support. Many important things happened, we all got a lot of valuable experience. On JTanki Online celebrated its fourth birthday. ![]() I was pleasantly surprised that xTool also sent along the optional 2W IR (1064nm) laser module accessory. Ease of access is greatly improved with the easy open lid ![]() It’s a beautiful design with a partially open front when the cover is open. I was ecstatic to find that it was larger than the xTool M1, yet had a smaller form factor than the xTool P2 while maintaining almost the same working area. From the photo, it was hard to tell how big the machine was. When I took on the review, the only thing I knew about the machine was that it had a 40W diode laser module and a rough idea of what it looked like with an included photo. I like to use the machines I review in real use cases, such as creating items in a production setting. I have turned down reviews from other laser companies, mostly because I either didn’t like the machine specifications, or I could not see a good real-world use for them in my daily activities. The world’s first 40W enclosed diode laser cutter? Oh Yes! Okay, I’ll admit that I was absolutely giddy. When xTool offered to send their new S1 Laser Engraver and Cutter for me to review, I was more than happy to say yes. There have been a few things with each machine that I would have liked to have been different, but overall I have been very happy with them. I like xTool products, but I’m not a blind follower. There are few households where a CXN might live that will not have a WiFi network and in turn the residents phones will almost certainly be connected to it. The second possibility being that Chromecast and Airplay offer improved fidelity making Bluetooth somewhat redundant. One could be that a Bluetooth transceiver needs to be in a plastic housing and the CXN is crafted from pressed steel, making it very hard for radio waves to escape. I assume Cambridge have made this an optional plug-in unit for two reasons. Having previously tested one and finding it to work perfectly I didn’t try one with the CXN during this review. Cambridge have had 10 years to hone the performance of this product and is now highly featured and rather slick. A year or two later it was followed by the bigger chassis sized Stream Magic 6, and then in quick succession, the first version of the CXN. Initially the NP30 waved the flag for Cambridge branded streaming. Cambridge got in early on the idea of removing the PC from the listening space but keeping the advantages it brings. The CXN has been around in one form or another for many years. I should also mention that the CXN I’m testing is the latest version, V2. The CX range consists of two integrated amplifiers, the CXA61 and CXA81 a CD transport known as the CXC and the streamer being reviewed here, the CXN. The CX range sits in the lower middle, representing perhaps the most sound quality for the least bucks. The range tops out with the ‘Edge’ pre streamer, an integrated amplifier and a power amplifier. Since that day, Cambridge has moved forward with an ever-expanding range of quality, affordable stereo gear. Wow, how things have changed! The rudder was reattached in 1994, with the purchase of the Cambridge Audio label by Audio Partnership. ![]() I’m not even sure the brand was imported into Australia at that time.
